This and That

Sorry for the delay in posting...we've just been busy with everyday life. We were in a cold snap down here, just as up in MN. Not AS COLD of course, but a 10 year record low for our area. After a week of being cooped up it feels good to be able to head outside again. Here are some highlights from life at "Camp Maras".....

The 2nd grade classes at Tony's school just launched their "Pets Around the World" unit. Each child is given a small stuffed animal and they are asked to send it to someone who lives someplace we may never get to visit. The recipient is asked to journal and send pictures of the "adventures" their pet has, and even send it along to someone else who may live in another part of the world. The pets need to arrive back at school by April 7th. The kids will chart the travels on maps and share the adventures with their class. Anyways, Tony was pretty pumped to bring home his beaver named "Paddles." We sent it to a friend of mine from high school who is a pilot based out of Hong Kong. He is excited to take "Paddles" on a trip around the world...we've heard rumors he may even visit Saudi Arabia! Stay tuned!
Livie has been working hard to master her "tripod" for her Hip-Hop dance class. She does really well balancing...

...WAHOO! A perfect headstand! :)

Next weekend is the Boy Scout Pinewood Derby. Tony and Chris have been working on their entry for this year....can you guess what it will be? Tony came up with a great idea...it may not be the fastest car, but it will be unique that's for sure!!!! Good 'ol Crafty Chris got out ALL of my craft paint to make black. True to our reputation we "use what we have." We'll post pictures of the finished car after next weekend's race!

The weather was downright balmy yesterday and Chris kicked the kids outside (thank you!). They were reluctant. Funny, how they "forget" that they actually ENJOY being outside...true to form, they didn't want to come in! We don't have much snow, but what we had was nice and sticky.

The result of a full day outside! Notice, the little "Nelsonman" on the ground in between Chris and Livie. Nice job kids! With temps. forcasted in the high 40's this week our snow family won't last long.

Great pictures guys. Love the car Tony. Ask Uncle Brian about the car we built. Sad.

I stood on my head Liv to see your face, I should have moved some chairs, computers, etc. so when I crashed I would not break anything.

Hey Nelson!

Love the snowpeople and the little snow doggie! It's way too cold up here to be outside...-32 on Friday morning! Liv, it looks like your toes are touching the ceiling...good job on the handstand! Tony, I just know your car is going to be the fastest one at the race, can hardly wait to see the finished product! Stay warm, talk soon!!!
