We enjoyed a nice long visit with my parents over the Thanksgiving weekend. The weather was beautiful and we are VERY glad they came. The girls (and Tony) did some shopping on Friday and that night the boys went to a
UNO hockey game.
Saturday we took
gramma and papa to the Durham Museum, downtown Omaha. It's a beautiful, art-deco building that used to be the Union Pacific Railroad Depot. After that we strolled along Omaha's Old Market and enjoyed a great dinner out.
Sunday was the day to go get our Christmas tree. We set a
Maras Family record for finding our tree in approximately 10 minutes. We stopped at a mom and pop tree farm we'd never been too, and found this lovely
UNSHEARED tree that was just waiting to come home with us. The old farmer who owned the place had to chuckle when he saw which tree we picked.
We all love it and how it looks like we found it in the woods. In fact, we fantasized about having our own tree farm some day when we get our "dream house" in the country. None of the trees will get trimmed and
Livie named it, "Scraggly Pines." Tony said we could even let people pet our donkeys and goats when they came. Then all the money we make selling trees on the weekends will pay for a nice long vacation in the Bahamas in February. It's good to dream.
If you're like me, you are in SHOCK that tomorrow is December 1st. We head to Minnesota on the 19
th so I have 18 days to get Christmas done.....ho ho ho!

Your tree looks great!!! It is perfect...just wish they had artificial ones that looked like that. Livie and Tony look perfect, too!!!
WE LOVED the book you sent down! What a surprise and so cute. We were cracking up so much reading it! hah! Those crazy Cajuns--tell Livie she makes a stellar Cajun! Hope it works out to see ya all for Christmas!!!!!

What a beautiful tree, it's the only kind we get, very "natural". Sometimes we call ours Charlie Brown tree! Liv and Tony, can't wait to see you, you look great, but growing way too fast. Miss you all. Auntie Becky

Stop growing!!!!!! Tony and Livie you are growing up so fast! Before you know it both of you will be as tall as your Christmas tree:)

See you in less than a month! "First we'll make snow angels for two hours, then we'll go ice skating, then we'll eat a whole roll of Tollhouse Cookie-dough as fast as we can, and then we'll snuggle."
