The Great Pumpkin has Arrived!

As the kids get older they've been getting more hands-on (or should I say, hands-in) with pumpkin carving. This year Tony picked out a cool pumpkin with green "veins" all over it.

Liv picked a nice fat one with lots of wrinkles....

This year Tony was a Viking for Halloween. It all started with the hat...then we found a $5 faux-fur coat at a rummage sale. We cut off the arms for his leg and arm wraps. Unwrapped his whip from LAST year's costume and VOILA! Pretty darn cool if you ask me. He was the ONLY Viking in the neighborhood. It was a beautiful day for Halloween. Sunny and in the 50's. The night got cool, but pleasant. He was actually sweaty by the time he got home. This would be a great MN costume for sure!

Liv went up the street to her BFF Maggie's house for pizza before trick-or-treating. Five of them had a Halloween sleepover at her house (whew!). She ran home for literally 10 minutes as we threw her Halloween Fairy costume together...and she was out the door again. Liv was originally going to be a "dark fairy" all in black, but I think this get-up was much cuter! As a 6th grader, she's getting close to being done with all this stuff....bummer.

And there's Kolton!!!! The kids are good sports and very patient with him. He's in kindergarten and worships them both.

The "girls" made an appearance at our house and stood still long enough for me to snap a picture and blind them all with my flash. They have a lot of fun running around on their own through the neighborhood. I'm guessing Livie will be tired and crabby when she gets home! Ah, sleepovers.

Tony was pretty thrilled with his loot this year. With the weather being mild, I think he hit every house in the neighborhood. There were cars lined up trying to get into our little burb....and we had what seemed like a million trick-or -treaters this year! There is just one way in and one way out so it is a nice place to come on Halloween....but man, it's getting expensive!

The morning after. He did humor me and eat a bowl of cereal before his first piece of candy. Tony's been on a two-day "Munsters" marathon. He gets a little more freedom when big sister is away. Don't tell Livie.

Today we have another beautiful day with temps in the 60's. Ah, Nebraska ROCKS in the fall.
