Maras Family Update....finally

A couple weekends ago (I'm a bit behind) was Tony's Pinewood Derby. This year he requested his car be made into a Greek War ship. Chris said no.

Tony again won a trophy for design - that's his goal each year and he's 3 for 3 so far!

Olivia participated in the "open class" again this year and created a darling octopus. Half of a plastic Easter egg made a perfect head!

Here is Tony's "Wiils". Pretty good rendition if you ask me. And the only car that wasn't really a car this year.

This past weekend we made pasties for the first time in YEARS. Thank goodness for Chris, because I would never do stuff like make jam, pasties, etc... if it wasn't for him. He dug out a meat grinder attachment for my mixer that we bought at an auction years ago and even ground his own meat! That's Grandma Thompson's wooden rolling pin and my prized old bowl that I snagged at our local thrift store for 5 bucks!!! I think using heirlom tools makes everything taste better. Think of how many batches of ravioli Grandma T rolled out with that pin and how many loaves of bread spent time rising in that bowl through the years.....by the way, the pasties were DELISH and we have a bunch in the freezer for future enjoyment.
Alos this past weekend the kids attended our local library's Winter Lock-in. We dropped them off at 5:30 not to be picked up until 8am the next day. The kids had a blast and Tony stayed up ALL NIGHT LONG! There are no pictures because we dropped them off and hightailed it into Omaha for a much needed, belated Anniversary dinner and movie. Thank you library!

Today is a SNOW DAY!!!! We got the call last night around 7:30 pm and by 8:00 pm Olivia was at a friends house for a sleepover. Tony went to bed late and woke up at his usual time as always. He enjoyed his hot chocolate in front of the TV this morning.

Livie made it home and made herself a cozy nest to catch up on her reading.

Hey Tony....it's 3:00 p.m.....are you STILL in your jammies????
