Maras Family Update

This past weekend Chris' parents and his sister Joanna came to visit Thur-Sun. (MEA). Friday Jojo visited Tony's class as her 4th graders in Mt. Iron are pen pals with Tony's 4th grade class here. Then she had lunch with Olivia at her school. You know Auntie Jojo MUST be cool if she was welcomed to visit school by a certain 7th grader we know. Friday night we did the flashlight corn maze at Skinny Bones just down the road. Guess who was in charge of flashlights?

Gramma Nancy joined in on the fun, but Papa John found himself a rocker and parked it in front of a big screen where they were showing old black and white horror movies.

"This doesn't look familiar".....egads it took us forever! But we DID make it to the exit. We sent Gramma on her way and then the rest of us headed back in. We were determined to get all 8 punches on the card they gave us at the beginning of the maze.

Here they are happily earning the last punch on our cards...anything to get a prize. What a bunch of stubborn bohunks! (not me of course)

Auntie Jojo brought a cool craft for the kids to work on.
On Saturday we took a drive through the Loess Hills of Western Iowa. The first few years we were here, fall was a big disappointment for us. However, as we approach our 6 yr anniversary (gasp!) of moving to Eastern Nebraska we have come to appreciate and enjoy the beauty of our area.

Chris, Tony and Jojo found themselves on top of the world...or at least it must be the "top" of Iowa?

The guinea hens themselves weren't really picture worthy, but we all went nuts when we spotted all the little babies running about!

Made a pit stop at a small orchard for some apples and pumpkins on the way home. In the fall, mums are in their GLORY around here. They grow as perennials and I know I plant more each year as we enjoy them so much. The Maras' clan was treated to a beautiful fall weekend with warm temps and lots of sunshine. Thanks for the visit guys!

Great post Jo!

Thanks for having us. You always do a wonderful job of planning activities and feeding us. Speaking of which, I'm missing that pumpkin pie ice cream :)

I think the sleepy heads are cute in their jammies! Everyone was looking at their awesome art anyways.

Talk soon!
Jojo
